About Louis

Registered Psychologist

Louis is a registered psychologist who works with adolescents (12+) and adults, with a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He also enjoys working with those navigating life transitions, as well as women in the antenatal period and parents adjusting to the early stages of family life and parenting.

His approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and he is interested in further developing his skills in Schema Therapy to support deeper and more enduring change. He is comfortable exploring the fundamental questions of life, including meaning, identity, mortality, and responsibility.

He is particularly interested in helping people identify and work through longstanding patterns that can hold them back from living more fully and realising their potential. Louis takes a thoughtful and reflective approach to therapy, balancing practical strategies with deeper exploration. He aims to provide a calm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely understood, can make sense of their experiences, and experience meaningful relief from the challenges they are facing.

Louis has a strong interest in the integration of Christian faith and psychological practice. He values the role that faith can play in identity, meaning, relationships, and healing, and welcomes clients who wish to incorporate their beliefs into therapy. He works respectfully with individuals from all backgrounds.

He provides support in areas including:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Life transitions and adjustment

  • Antenatal wellbeing and early parenting

  • Identity, meaning, and personal growth

  • Faith-related concerns and spiritual life

Louis's fees are $200 per session. He is available Wednesday and Thursday. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Why evidence- based therapies?

Our extensive experience as psychologists has led us to use only evidence based strategies and approaches. We value your individual story and want you to be sure you can make progress in meeting life's challenges.

What do we mean by evidence based approaches? Well-studied, researched and proven ways to work through trauma, mental health issues and relationship problems to find solutions together.

CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a supportive, evidence-based approach that helps people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. With compassion and collaboration at its core, CBT gently guides individuals in identifying unhelpful patterns and developing healthier ways of thinking and coping. It's a practical, empowering process that honors each person's unique journey toward healing and emotional well-being. CBT is often used as part of a strategy for addressing depression and anxiety.

Schema therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy designed to help people identify and change deeply rooted emotional patterns developed in childhood. It is commonly used to treat anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and relationship difficulties. Schema therapy combines cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, and emotional techniques to support long-term emotional healing and healthier coping strategies.
